Shopping should be fun ...    

Although Asian cooking has hit the Australian palate with a vengeance, like many people, we find it hard to source good quality Asian ingredients preferably without MSG and other nasties. And we've all experienced it - the cramped dusty shelves, rows and rows of the same products and worst of all, NO ONE who wants to help you, let alone answer your questions!

We noticed that there were specialty food stores for every cuisine except Asian - where you could ask anything you like and the person behind the counter will actually help.  Unbelievable - we know!

At The Eastern  Ingredient, we road-test everything so we can advise and provide you with handy-hints for perfect results. Basically, we won't stock anything that we wouldn't eat ourselves! Everything in our store is personally selected and even some of our homewares are made exclusively for our store.

Being ex-Singaporeans, WE LOVE FOOD!  Its not just a fad, its a way of life. And if we're not eating food, we're talking about it, planning our days around it, cooking it - you get the message.  

So it makes perfect sense for us to have a foodstore where we can impart our "inside" information on cooking all dishes Asian, coupled with all the homewares that we love and which we hope you'll love and enjoy too.
